Jeremy/Bonnie Hellman on sun 10 apr 05
Linda Blossom has asked me to mention that she is bringing Diana Pancioli to
her studio in Ithaca, NY on JUNE 10-11, 2005 for a participatory workshop
and there are still a few openings. The fee is $110.
I am looking forward to attending this workshop, because I've enjoyed
speaking with Diana on numerous occasions and because I find myself
re-reading her book periodically for more suggestions.
You can email me with questions and for information about where to send your
workshop fee to register, since Linda will be unavailable for questions for
2 weeks.

Below is more information about the workshop:
Diana Pancioli Extruder Workshop
The use of extrusion in handbuilt pottery has infinite possibilities with
most of these unexplored. Diana Pancioli has been exploring the
possibilities and creating some of her own. She will introduce the making
of large and small functional vessels using extrusions. She will show how
to make platters with extruded sides. She uses the extruder to make the
walls for casting platter and plate molds. Making our own dies is really
not difficult and Diana will demonstrate how to do this; making both solid
and hollow die forms. Diana has been making textured rollers using an
extrusion as the starting point. Everyone will make a ewer, a platter, a
large pot, and a roller - all segments of this workshop will be
participatory. Slide lectures will also be included.
Diana Pancioli is the author of Extruded Ceramics.
THE WORKSHOP SCHEDULE

Saturday, so anyone local or staying in the area is welcome to join. An
optional slide lecture that early evening.
