glaze archives?

updated fri 15 apr 05

I would like to look for some cone 1, or 2, or 3 glazes. I haven't
figured out how to hunt in the clayart archives, and it seems there
are other websites that have glazes. Any suggestions?

Discussions by subject is another way to check the archives.

www.potters.org/categories.htm

scroll down to glazes. You will find 04-06..where there are a lot of
Helen Bates messages, and a few low fire things. There may be some
under misc..but I haven`t searched that far lately. Looks like a shortage
of information in the range you are looking for.
Good luck,
Lela

Hi Lela,

Thanks for responding. I never found any. Don Goodrich found one
and I am testing it. I finally found a page from my college notes
that give a ballpark unity formula so armed with that and some cone 3
glazes and my newly-installed Insight program I have just put in a
test-kiln full of possibilities. I'll write the list with my results
in a coupla days.

Hi Eleanora,

Perhaps more will get involved
with that temperate range with energy costs going skyward.
I occasionally use Stroke and Coats. The directions say fire
to 05-06 but they work well up to at least ^6..though
that`s probably not what you are looking for.

Good luck! I look forward to read about your efforts.
Best wishes from Lela
