Greetings Clay Art

Since the Axner wheels were mentioned today, I wanted to respond with
an update. The post indicated that the Axner wheels held up very well
in a school situation but that there was dissatisfaction with the
splash pan. In the past, the only complaint that we had received about
Axner wheels with any degree of regularity was that the splash pan was
not completely satisfying.

While we still feel that the old design of splash pan was very
adequate, some of you have disagreed. In any event, we are not
satisfied with adequate either and we strive to be known for superior
quality. We have listened and reacted accordingly and recently we have
been advertising our new splash pans in Ceramics Monthly and in recent
mail-outs. The new splash pans are made of thicker plastic and they
are much sturdier. They are all made in a two-piece format for easy
removal and reattachment. And they are all designed to lock down into
place on the wheels.

All of our new wheels go out with the lock-down feature installed on
the wheel. Retrofitting this feature onto the previous Axner wheels
requires a couple of simple tools and it can be done by most wheel
owners in 30 to 40 minutes although we have done it in as little as 10
minutes.

The costs of producing this superior splash pan are significantly
higher than those associated with producing the old ones. However, we
will offer a discounted price on these pans to people who wish to make
the change.

Thanks for letting me bend your ear. I respect the fact that this site
is not a format for advertising and I only respond like this when our
product is directly discussed in a manner that merits such an answer.
