>> I've just made a huge batch of red terra sig (my first time!) and now have
a large amount of red leftover sludge in the bottom of my pail. Is there
anything I can do with it, or do I have to throw it out? The sludge is ball
clay, silica and red iron oxide. I thought about using it for slip
decorations for ^10 firings but don't know if that's a good idea. Any other
thoughts for usage? <<

Try it!

I use the left over sludge from my white sig (all ball clay) to make a
thick slip for raised and inlaid decoration. Works great.

You'll have to add a LOT of something to keep it from settling out I add
Epson Salts, A LOT!

Have fun experimenting.

use a few drops, just tiny drops, of muriatic acid in about a pint of it
and blend it in a blender. It should stay suspended and creamy.

Any hardware store will have it. Get the small container as you will not need much.
