This is trivia, but useful trivia. Assuming that we are talking about the
standard 4.5x2.5x9" hardbrick series, soaps are like a standard brick cut
down the center, giving pieces 2.25x2.5x9". Soaps are very useful as tall
kiln posts in salt, soda, and wood firing. Splits, on the other hand, are
like a brick cut the other way, giving a thin piece 1.25x4.5x9".
