First met Rimas when he sub'ed a semester while Phill Cornelius was on
sabbatical. So I got to see him work for four months.
He does very interesting work, takes a great interest in his students,
demonstrates / communicates clearly, and is a fairly affable fellow.
Liked him and his work.
One thing that really impressed me was how much time he spent working
with his classes on developing their skills at photographing their work,
writing their proposals, and getting them to enter the art market place
by entering juried shows. For a one year adjunct instructor at a
community college, he showed great commitment to his art and the
art/career of his students. He certainly gave far more than he was paid
for.
He is a master at what he does and gives his all with no holding back.
