Hello-
I need to purchase a potters wheel that I can take on
trips. It needs to be small, reasonable weight and
have a footpedal. Does anyone have any
recommendations?

thanks!

The Creative Industries one is pretty good. You can get it with detachable
legs and a foot pedal. I used to have to drag my Brent C or CX around,
killed my back and messed with my arthritis. The CI wheel is light weight,
and compact, but will throw as much as 25 lbs.

Hi Pat,

Look in the advertisement section of any recent Ceranics Monthly (or for=
=20
that matter, any ceramics periodical) for numerous ads for portable wheel=
s,=20
eg, Throw-N-Go, Brent, Pacifica, Bailey, Thomas Stuart, etc. I'm guessin=
g=20
you mean electric drive wheels as kick wheels would not be very portable.

Hope this helps,

Great Lakes' Throw N Go wheel sounds perfect. I posted a link to the
picture of it on our website a week or so ago, here it is again:

I imagine Great Lakes has a website of their own which might have more
pictures - ?

hey pat.. a few years ago i got a chance to try out a soldner portable model
that clamped onto a table.. its like a regular soldner wheel only with
clamps instead of legs. I thought it would be like a toy but it worked
great... strong, smooth, great control at slower speeds, quiet..
Needless to say it was compact (would fit in your trunk without a prob) and
had a seperate pedal.

Best of luck finding the right wheel for you. Would love to hear what you
end up getting. :)

Pat,

Put the link below into your browser and check out Creative Industries
"Artista" wheel. I think it may be what you're looking for. It's very portable and
weighs only 35 pounds, yet appears plenty adequate centering 25 lbs. of
clay. I've never used one myself (yet) but have heard great things about this
wheel. You can purchase the optional legs and pedal as well I believe.

I'm not affiliated with CI other than being a satisfied long time customer.
I have an old MP purchased 19 years ago (that has since been upgraded to an
HP) and I'm still very satisfied with it. If I were to buy a second wheel for
demos, portability, etc. - the "Artista" would be first on my radar screen to
consider.
