Hello,

I am trying to find out some info on an old stoneware
from WS George Pottery/Royal China, Inc. Would you be
able to help me discover what kind of glaze was used
in making them? I am trying to determine if it is
lead-free and microwave safe.

Thank you so much,
Wendi Voraritskul

EAST PALESTINE

East Palestine Pottery Company
Origin: East Palestine, Ohio
Date: 1880-1904
Subsequently: W.S. George Pottery Company
Type: Transferprint
It wouldn't surprise me, due to the date of manufacture, that a lead-frit would be a component of their white ware glaze and perhaps their yellowware and Rockingham.

Royal China was in Sebring Ohio, started in 1934, my book says still in business in 1988 and may still be in business. Too many types of ware but don't be surprised if it also used lead-frit.
