i don't understand people!
recently on potter barter, there was a gas kiln
for sale in morris plains, nj . i was already
reading email when the post came in.
so i jumped on it! we corresponded by phone
and emails. i made an appointment with her.
she assured me i had first dibs. i never thought
to be wary or distrusting. however...
SHE SOLD IT TO SOMEONE ELSE AN HOUR BEFORE I GOT THERE!
is that low, or what??
i just can't believe it.
this is NO reflection on potter barter.
potter barter is a great resource for all potters
and i thank kelly for moderating.
i am just disappoined with human nature, right now...
(sorry and thanks for listening -- sometimes venting
to friends does help!)

Oh, I think you understand alright, Lauren--you just don't like it very
much! That was a rotten thing for her to do.
And if I disremembers correctly, the same thing happened a few months
back. By the time the buyer arrived, the seller had found a higher
"bid." I guess eBay has lulled some of these @&*#$s into believing that an
AUCTION is the same thing as a SALE.
More than once I've seen offers here and on Potterbarter of items for
"sale" (in the subject line) and then found a reference to an auction in
the body of the message. Irksome!

I hope that, at the very least, when you backed out of her driveway to
depart, you plowed right through her prize petunias! ;-)
