Hello, Arnold,
I'm sure your advice is generally correct, as usual, but perhaps you
are not aware that some downdraft vent systems (like my Bailey, for
instance) don't use lid vent holes; they instead rely on the top peep
being open while the vent is on.
I don't really like the peep being open, and I'll be drilling several
small holes around my lid so that I can fire with all peeps closed;
that's just too much air coming in at one point. Especially if one
wants to put a cone pack there!
