We received this note from John Glick, juror for the Strictly
Functional Pottery National this year. We always get positive
feedback, but this note is worth sharing.
"Recently I juried the 13th Strictly Functional Pottery National
ceramics exhibition. What a joy it was to be in touch with a cross
-section of the great pots being done in our ceramics community. Seeing
so many diverse and strong examples all in a short period of time was
nothing short of sheer fun!
I came away from the experience feeling buoyantly confident about the
"health" of the pottery being done in our community of clay loving
folks! Fresh ideas and the spirit of inquiry were so apparent in the
pots I saw first in slide form and then in person. I am so grateful
to have
been involved.
I came away from the jurying experience feeling very rewarded by the
contact with the works themselves and in some instances, the potters
who made the pots.
Bravo to those who make this show come alive year after year!"
