There's an article by Kathy Chamberlin in the Jan/Feb '05 issue of =
PotteryMaking Illustrated on wood ash.
She cleans with water, pours off the water, spreads the ash on newspaper =
or cloth, and places it in the sun.
She then a final screening through an 80-mesh screen prior to storing.
