Fee: $ 135.00
The =
properties of plaster enable the artist to capture and reproduce the =
finest details of natural and man -made surfaces. Studio =
artists can employ mold- making techniques as a tool to increase and =
enhance productivity in the studio. Components created from these molds =
may be further manipulated, and combined to create production items or =
one off pieces. In this workshop students will participate in =
making a variety of press-molds using wet clay prototypes, found objects =
and plant material as examples. Use of plaster, one and two piece mold =
design and use, will be demonstrated. A slide presentation of the entire =
process will be shown. Handouts containing a wealth of resources =
and information for further independent exploration will also be =
shared. Students are encouraged to bring an object for mold making =
consideration and discussion.
