Hello everyone, my name is Teresa Testa. I am a returning member of
clayart. I have been following this thread with interest. I have a few
observations I would like to share with you all. Thank you to Kelly,
Vince, John and the many others that have contributed such thought
provoking posts.

I think acceptance is a key factor in posting on clayart. First you must get your post published,
then it is a good thing if someone replies. The dynamics of
this group has been established over a period of years. New people come,
new people go, but the heart of clayart lives on. The people that have
put the time and energy into posting on clayart for years are the heart of
clayart. Most of you know each other personally or a least have a cyber
history with each other. Some of you have personal and professional knowledge of
each other. It is a tough act to follow for someone who is new. It is
like being the new kid in class. If you sit in the back of the room and
never say anything people will forget you are even there, but if you
participate and let people get to know, you will make some friends (and
probably some enemies as well.) We all are looking for a place to fit.
We all want to be liked and accepted. Acceptance and respect are earned on
clayart not given. You prove yourself by example, the extent of your
knowledge as evidenced by the quality of your posts, your willingness to
let others know you and of course let's not forget, the quality of your
work. Some people on clayart seem to be poets, some seem to be
philosophers, and still others seem to be scientists. People on clayart
seem to be one big (happy?) family. It is one thing to ask a question as
an anonymous newcomer and get an answer from and oldtimer, it is quite
another to become part of the heart of clayart.

Hi Marta,

Maybe they forgot those of us who bought the packet at Baltimore Clayworks
during the workshop/show. I have not received mine either.
I would be happy if you would add my name to your list of those still
waiting....

Best, Rikki
