He has designed his own gravity feed spray gun and has them available now. Paul Geil basically took the harbor freight gun and redesigned and made it better so it atomizes glazes via boring out the nozzle and added extra air holes, etc. I talked to Tom last week and he said they are selling 100's of them to what sounds like very happy customers. They gave a spraying workshop a few months ago (200+ people) and had to turn people away. I know they are offering another workshop in July in CA. I would contact Paul directly with any questions and comparison to the HVLP or spray workshops:

Like I said, I've seen the video when I was at Tom's that you can buy for a measley $15 (I told them they should charge more) and it should be stocked in every school and art center as the complete (and I do mean complete) definitive "how to" of spraying glazes, application techniques, connecting, pressure, maintaining/cleaning etc. of spray guns, compressors, etc. Paul has a reputation for being very precise and particular. That is the kind of guy if I were to buy a kiln, I would want to buy a kiln, spray gun, whatever from. Anyway, Nuff said.

write again and re-ask. And, yes, if Geil
is truly making his own spray gun and IF
I can get a Spraying workshop, I'll
undoubtedly buy Geil's.

In the Mojave where my Tom Coleman clay
finally arrived today!!! I had hoped to
catch his and Horsely's workshop in Ojai
this weekend, but no go.
Word of Caution: If you want to register
for a workshop, do so early on. The host
for the workshop must get ducks in order
at minimum 4 or 5 weeks ahead, especially
when the presenter is well-known. I heard
today that often a workshop could be filled
the last 5 or 6 days alone but that's not good
enough. I used to depend on being able to
weasel my way in at the last minute. Not
gonna work any more .... I want a quality
..... high quality.... workshop within a
certain geographical range... therefore,
I have to quit procrastinating and get on
my horse early.... will do...
