I'm planning a visit to NY city in search of galleries and clay studios.
Just got lost in the archives and Russel's pages, so much information.
But.... could someone write me off list (I only get the digest) and suggest places to visit..?
Thanks so much,

Marilu, very excited to have my work featured in the invitation for
m.t.burton gallery "Jersey Shore Clay National" opening May 28th, till June 26th
juried by Peter Callas.

I forgot to mention that the site.. www.ashesandsnow.org is not
related to clay. Photography, video, architecture, writing, music,..but not
clay.

Hi Marilu,

I am recently back from a NYC visit. If you only get to a couple of
galleries, try to make the Metropolitan Museum of Natural History one of
them, on the east edge of Central Park. Amazing place...and big. I wasn`t
watching the clock... got stuck in the Egyptian area..for a very long time.
The Guggenheim is close by,the building a sculpture in itself and doable in
a few hours. The Metroploitan Museum of Art is also very close. I didn`t
even try to see it all, would take weeks. So much, one can`t take it in
after awhile. My answer is to just go back sometime.

My daughter found a notice about a photography-video exhibition in the` New
Yorker` so we walked miles to check out. A show so wonderful neither of us
will ever forget. The web site gives only a tiny taste, here it is..the show
lasts untill June 6th.

www.ashesandsnow.org I can`t say enough about it, so will stop trying.

To me, NYC is foreighn but familiar at the same time. Convoys of NYPD cars
with sirens blaring and lights flashing for no reason apparant reason.
Visibility.. Stella Macartney and other high end desighners in the middle of
the Meat Market area..?..Really friendly Manhattan natives, some who
occasionally sing, just because. Streach Hummers.

Have a lovely time.
From Lela who took some pots to an outlet in our close by national park
Friday. Mountain sheep, I think Daul, cavorting in the street. Friendly
jousting, frolicking like lambs after a lunch of newly planted bedding
plants in someone`s front yard before the token wire mesh could get put up.
In the Rockies, by the lake , deer. Life is good.

Hi, Lela,

As other New Yawkers will likely tell you, New York's Museum of
Natural History is on the west side of Central Park, while the
Guggenheim and Metropolitan Museum of Art are on the east side.

I spent many hundreds of hours at the Natural History as a kid
growing up in Brooklyn, and go there as often as I can when I'm on
the right coast for a visit. It is indeed an amazing place that
takes weeks to see completely. As is the Met. And I've always
loved the Guggenheim and the Museum of Modern Art, although I haven't
been to MoMA since it's been in its rebuilt space. I've heard it's
amazing, and expensive.

Regards,
Maurice
