CLAYMAKERS, located in Durham, NC,is scheduled to have some great hands-on
workshops this June, and we are looking for more participants. If you're
interested and able, these workshops offer opportunities not to be missed.

Sam Chung will be here June 8-12(5 days)helping you make slab-built forms
from drawings and patterns. A soda firing (firing only) workshop taught by
Leonora Coleman will be June 25, 26 and 29th, giving participants in Sam's
work an opportunity to fire their pots as Sam does.

Ronan Peterson's 5-day workshop is June 15-19th. He will give you a whole
catalogue of surface techniques and treatments for earthenware, that can
also be applied to other temperatures.

Complete details about the workshops, including images of Sam's and Ronan's
work, can be found on our web site, WWW.CLAYMAKERS.COM. For people who
might come from out-of-town we are working on arrangements for special
rates at a local motel.

If you want to attend any of these workshops, call us RIGHT AWAY! (919)530-
8355. We really need more participants in order to cover costs, and may
even have to cancel one or more if we don't hear from a few more people!

Sam Chung's thoughtful manner of creating great pots, plus his gentle, good-humored, considerate personality should make this a great workshop! I really enjoyed watching Sam work for parts of two days in Indianapolis last year.

I second Dave's recommendation on Sam Chung. I spent 2 weeks with him
at Arrowmont about 4 or 5 years ago. He has gotten nothing but better
since then.

John
