shinos twice fired- understanding iron ox

Kim-

Part of what happens in the second firing (bisque) with shinos is that the iron gets
a chance to reoxidize. You can take a white shino and simply rebisque along with all your other pots repeatedly and with each firing it will get slightly redder. Doesnt help carbon trapping though.

Hope this helps.

For a definitive shino formula/workflow, ask Tony C, Hank M, Craig M..... these guys have it down!

cheers,
