Maid O'Mud on sun 29 may 05
I bought out a studio some time ago,=20
and am starting to experiment with the=20
stains. I have about 1.5 lbs of Mason=20
Stain 6209. I checked the Mason site
and it's simply listed as Chrome Green.
Does this mean it's only Chrome?
TIA

Hello Sam:
According to Mason Stains Chart:
Chrome Green: has Cr. Si., so it is basically just Chrome .. and in the
comment section: Fire at most to 2300 and Do not use Zinc in glaze.
Have fun with all the colors.

Sam-
If you check out Mason's website, you'll see that while you're looking at each of the various color pages, there are tabs at the top of the page. Color, Notes, Reference.
The tech info you need is under Reference. With regard to this particular stain,
Yes indeed, it is just Chrome and Silica.
Probably a stain you could be making a little cheaper on your own.
Certainly worth playing with!
Good luck

I look it up on the Mason Stain list and there is also silicon dioxide in it.
