Dear Gay,
I use the water that comes out of the tap.
We do not have especially hard or soft water.
I had a problem one time with very hard panning,
and tried distilled water. The glaze fired nicely, but it
was too much of struggle to get the glaze mixed up each time
I wanted to use it. I have at least three qualitfications for the glazes
I use regularly. No to, or very limited "hard poisions" in the recipe,
(I would say, Barium, Nikkle, Manganese and a few more), it stays
reasonably deflocced and, of course, it fits my clay and it fires well
in my kiln. It was the glaze, not the water.
Too much Frit. Hope you get some good results.
regards from Alisa
