To all who have replied with suggestions I thank you.
My initial question to the group was whether wax resist could be mixed
with a glaze with successful results. The answer was a qualified "yes".
However I would like to take the question further by asking if there
are other forms of resist that would yield better run-off of a dipped
glaze after a resist stroke was applied. and provide a tougher surface.
What if the resist vehicle was:
Japan dryer (a linseed oil derivative that dries quickly and is used in
oil painting)
A thick clear lacquer.
White glue (Elmers glue)
Acrylic polymer.

These mediums would be used in place of water and added to the dry
ingredients.

Thanks for your thoughts.
