Over the course of the years I've been on Clayart (since '96, I think) there
have been a number of discussions about having a place for potters to put
photos. Some of us have websites, some have accounts on Shutterfly and
oPhoto, some have blogs, some have moblogs (whatever they are!). Janet
Kaiser in Wales has put photos on her site. Russell has set up a spot for
some, Belinda set up a website, Mel puts some photos up for others from time
to time. ACERs does not have the resources to set this up, and some people
just want to put one or two photos up once in a while, and don't want to
work through a potentially frustrating learning curve to figure out how to
do so.

But these days it is pretty easy, so I decided to give this a try. I set up
an free account on www.Flickr.com, which is a big photo-sharing website. It
is

www.flickr.com/photos/clayart

I emailed a picture to it, to see if it works. If you click on the picture,
you will see an option above it to view it at different sizes.

I will put up photos for Clayarters who want to share them, and who don't
have another easily accessible way to get them on the Net. Just email them
to me at kilpatrk@epix.net. If there is a response over the next few
months, I will spring for the big $25 a year to get more space and features.

Ideally, I would like Clayarters to be able to put their photos there
themselves if they want, or email them to me if they can't figure it out.
I'm not sure if there are permissions problems that would come up. If
someone would be willing to try uploading their photo directly to the site,
email me, and I will give you the login information, and we can see if it
works.

I figure I'll be around Clayart for the duration, so maybe this will be
useful to some over time. So bear it in mind, and send photos to me if you
want them put up.

Lori Doty's pictures have been put up on

If anyone has trouble viewing them, please let me know.

I think it will be possible for Clayarters to just email their own pictures
to the site. If someone would like to try that to test it, please let me
know and I will give you the information.

If that works, I will post the email information for the Clayart Flickr site
and we can see what happens!
