visiting montreal & quebec city any suggestions?

My husband, daughter and I will be in Montreal and Quebec City June 18-24th.
Does anyone know of any galleries that have ceramics in them or
potters/potteries to visit? We won't have a car just relying on public
transportation.
Also any recommendations of things to do, places to eat? This will be our
first visit there so any and all suggestions would be welcome.
One more very exciting thing, I just sent in my deposit for the Archeology &
Pottery tour in Southwest England in October, anyone else on the list going?

Thanks,

Hi Elaine,

Be sure to set aside some time to stroll around the part of the city known as Old Montreal,
basically the area between McGill University and the river. You will find all sorts of interesting
shops, galleries and bistros. The Botanical Gardens are also well worth a visit, just a short Metro
(subway) ride from the downtown. They have a good bonsai collection as well as themed areas to
see.
Quebec City is smaller, but it's one of North America's oldest and most beautiful cities. The Lower
Town Vieux-Port part of the city has lots to see with galleries and interesting little streets. If you
have time, and if you do get a car, take a side trip to Ile D'Orleans, just down river from the city. It
has some wonderful picnic spots and fine examples of traditional Quebec architecture.
Enjoy your visit to Canada, you'll find it a safe and welcoming place, and try out your French if you
have any!
