6th Biennial Mid-Atlantic Clay Conference
October 20-23, 2005
4-H Conference Center, Front Royal, Virginia

The 6th Biennial Mid-Atlantic Clay Conference, October 20-23, 2005, will
feature presenters Bill Van Gilder, Sandi Pierantozzi and Neil Patterson
along with a new array of workshops and presentations. Over 100 clay
artisans from the region will be attending this exciting conference at the
scenic 4-H Conference Center in Front Royal, Virginia. The Clay
Connection, a non-profit organization of potters in the Metropolitan
Washington DC area, sponsors the conference.

Bill van Gilder currently teaches claywork at The Art League in
Alexandria, Virginia and the Fredrick Pottery School in Frederick,
Maryland and conducts workshops on pottery tools and techniques and kiln
building. His work is exhibited and held in numerous collections
worldwide. Bill also writes a regular column on teaching techniques for
Clay Times Magazine and is host of a new television series entitled =93DIY
Pottery=94.

Neil Patterson maintains a private studio with his wife Sandi Pierantozzi
in Philadelphia. He teaches part-time at Tyler School of Art and The Agnes
Irwin School. His work has been featured in many books on pottery as well
as in Ceramics Monthly and Clay Times. He has won numerous national
awards and his work is in permanent collections throughout the US.

Sandi Pierantozzi=92s most recent work is inspired by nature, such as fish,
snakes and ferns to create forms and surfaces that connect with people on
a very basic, universal level. She has received many honors and awards
and her work is featured nationally in museums and publications.
