1-You could experiment with adding V-Gum, but that
works like an intense version of Macaloid, which is
just a cleaner form of the bentonite your already
adding.
2-V-Gum CER may be something to try. It's really just
a mixture of about 70% V-Gum and 30% CMC. Mix the
powder(s) in hot water, let stand and then add in
place of plain water. Don't use it on plaster bats,
as the CMC will seal them.
3-There are also acrylic emulsion products. I've been
experimenting with one called APT-II. It only takes a
few drops to work, -yet still the cost may be
prohibitive.

Shazia,
I would add 8% ball clay and see what that does. You have 8.2% bentonite and basically your claybody is a glaze. What temperature have you fired work too and has it kept its form? You may want to try adding either nylon fiber or even paper pulp (rip up some rolls of toilet paper and water them down into pulp).

Hi Shazia,
I did a Clayart Archives search and there is some interesting info from back
in 1996. Just go to the Archives and type in Egyptian paste in the subject
line.
http://www.ceramics.org/clayart
I also Googled it and found this page on Digitalfire. (If you aren't aware
of Digitalfire, do yourself a big favour and spend some time on this site.
It is FULL of great info.)
