studio name ideas: admonishing?

To some, or all, (myself included),

In my opinion the Studio Name Ideas has become a
rediculous issue. Not this specific topic, but these
responses in general.

I would like to have the guts, as a newcomer, to ask
that we either help a person with their requests or,
if we are in disagreement with the person's personal
thoughts or direction, be silent. Your professional
values are not at stake.
Not that we can't state out opinion, but if I ask
which dress to wear to a party, I don't need to hear
that I should stay home or go naked. That wasn't the
issue.

Last semester I had someone who hurt many in the class
by not understanding the difference between criticism
and critique. The one breaks, the other builds.

If you wish to answer the question, do so. If not,
honor a person's place in life and let it be so we
can, in turn, honor yours.

No offense, but maybe we can leave people their
values.

Marianne

Mr. Peeler used to say that it was some peoples mission in life to keep
others humble.

Dick Hay always wants to know if you really believe in what you are
doing.

Artists (visual and otherwise) have to have a tough thick skin.

I studied with Dick Hay, Ken Dewalt, Bruce Brekinridge, Don Reitz and
they all "told it like it was", sometimes it hurt, but most of the time
they were right. Harsh criticism has always driven harder and better
then "nice" comments. Maybe it is me, but I want to know what someone is
really thinking.

I agree you will get more flies with honey, but I want the truth
uncluttered with politeness and padding.

"If what a man has to say is no better then silence, then he should not
speak"
