CALL TO ARTISTS
NCECA 2007 Clayart Show
A proposal is being written to the NCECA Gallery Exhibit Board
for our very own CLAYART show at the 2007 New Orleans NCECA!

Before we are accepted and given venue as a gallery show
we must submit a body of work in slide format to be approved.
Considering we have such a broad spectrum of Clayarters
the body of work will first be judged by three anonymous
judges from our CLAYART community.
To enter:
Send three good quality 35mm slides/ or high resolution jpeg (only) images
on CD of your work
with your resume and artist statement to:

Billie Mitchell
NCECA CLAYART Show
Box 2783
Acworth, GA 30102

DEADLINE FOR SLIDES/CD's to be postmarked by midnight AUGUST 7, 2005
Enclose a SASE with full postage due for the return of your slides and/or
CD.
We are not responsible for slides being lost in the mail so registered mail
is advised.

The slides will be scanned and judged first by our own CLAYART judges then
the accepted body of work will be delivered in slide format
with the show proposal to NCECA before September 28, 2005.

There is NO guarantee that this show will be accepted, however if it is, the
artists accepted in the show will be able to show 3-4 pieces of their work
similar to the body of work in the slides that were submitted.
The artists will be responsible for shipping to and from the show in New
Orleans or they may deliver the work before NCECA 2007. Details of the
location and venue will be forthcoming.
There is discussion of printing and posters that will be announced later.

The deadline for entry is August 2005 for the NCECA in 2007.
These dates are set by the NCECA requirements.
Please submit your slides as soon as possible.

Nan, Billie,

Thanks muchly for putting this together, you have a lot of work ahead of
you. ;-)

>> Send HIGH resolution jpeg images <<

Do they HAVE to be jpeg? I take my digital photos in uncompressed Tiff
format. If I convert those to Jpeg, they will be "altered".

I'm assuming that NCECA wants unaltered files like Lark does in their
guidelines for submission.

I know Lark has nothing to do with this but I think that their digital
submission guidelines are the clearest and a good guide for all.

Also, do the "slides" selected have to be of pieces that will be submitted
or are they "representational"? (two years is a long time) and will the
pieces that get subimtted be saleable? (gotta finance my trip some how)

Another thought that no one has voiced. If the exhibition doesn't get in as
an official NCECA exhibition, we could always arrange our own. Just have to
book the space REAL early. Often times, the "fringe" activities around an
established event are the more interesting. The Edinburgh (Scotland)
Festival fringe, for example. In fact being on the fringe could be better.

Thanks in advance.

Russel,

Converting from Tiff to Jpeg is not an alteration. Don't worry about it. The concern is about Doctoring.
