ot- saving digital photos t osmart media

I found out that you can print photos directly from your camera smart media
at Kiosks, and they look great, better than I can do.
However, I want to put them through Photoshop first and clean them up for
contrast etc.
Does anyone know if there is a gizmo that will allow you to write from my
computer to the camnera smart media card ?
I have a gizmo called 'Dazzle' that allows you to download to a program and
even write to a DVD but not to a smart media card.

Any thoughts?
TIA
Frank

Frank -
If you are hooking your camera up to your computer with a USB or Firewire
cable, then it usually just behaves as an external storage drive. If that
is the case, then you should be able to download the files, edit them with
Photoshop, and then upload them back to the SmartMedia card. If for some
reason this will not work on your camera, then you just need to purchase an
inexpensive card reader that will hook up to your computer via USB cable.
In that case it definitely behaves like an external storage drive, and you
would be able to simply open the photos from the SmartMedia card directly
into Photoshop, and once they are edited save them back on to the SmartMedia
card. You don't need any special program or gizmo to do this, other than
your camera or maybe a card reader.
Good luck -

Frank --

No gadget needed. Photoshop it, and save it to the
camera or the card, however you attach to your
computer.

There are USB readers for smart media cards (as well
as most others) but if you have a way of attaching
your camera to your computer already it should work
both ways.

Yeah, what ever gizmo/process you use to attach the media from your camera
to the computer for down loading should allow you to move files in reverse,
and for that matter it needn't be a picture file, you can probably store or
move document files onto and off of most media cards. Your computer will
just treat the media as a "drive" and assign it a drive letter, so you take
the picture file off of the media, work on it in which ever software program
you are using and them up load it back to the card. Take the card to the
Kiosk and up load it there.

I tried taking the picture files in on a usb drive/memory stick, but most
kiosks don't seem to have a usb port, at least the ones around here. So
usually I just burn them to CD and take the CD in. You are right about the
quality of the prints though. I think they use an actual photo paper
process somehow. I can't tell the difference from them, and regular photos
printed on photo paper. For either 29 cents per print or 39 cents a print I
can get as many 5X7s as I want at the drug store. I wanted some pictures
blown up for school and found I could get 11 X 17s done at Kinkos for $1.25
each. They weren't quite photo quality, but still very good and I couldn't
beat the price.

Several years ago, I bought an Epson printer mainly just for prints, I was
paying so much for paper and ink and having to mess with it all of the time.
In the long run I figure this is cheaper, more convenient and the prints are
better quality.

Never mind!
I figured out how to do it. I was looking at REMOVABLE DISK but not at the
letter(G) thinking it was REMOVABLE DISK (D), my ZIP disk.:>) If you want a
very convienent, cheap way to dump your photos to your computer, I can
reccommend 'DAZZLE' smart media reader/writer. In addition you can write to
DVD.
Dazzle was just taken over by Zio corp.:
