Adding my kudos to the list of raves about Shakerag workshops is needed since one thing has been left out: THE FOOD REVIEW.
Each day is catered by amazing cooks. Fish was fabulous. Couscous was perfectly seasoned. Berry cobblers in season and the BEST coffee.

To get to the point, I focused on clay but hung out in all the studios since my undergrad education had me doing a lot of papermaking, printmaking, photo and painting.

Emily Martin had a book arts class that was to die for. But I had no time to be in there.

Jeff Oestreich's teabowls made us swoon. The simultaneous Lana-Nick-Jeff event was hilarious, fun and amazingly informative. Jeff has to be one of the funniest presenters ever. We would purposely try to get him talking.

Lana had so many ideas, those of us on the front row were falling down with exhaustion. She purposely messed up a decent teapot and turned it into bas relief tiles.

I know from seeing that Nick Joerling is the current pre-eminent form expert working in clay today. When you think you know how he made his pots, regardless of what you've done on or off the wheel, you should think again. He is completely amazing.

Well, better go. I have to run around town trying to find the tiny springs so I can rip off Jeff's cheese cutter design. Of course, I never make any of their pots, but stealing a la Picasso is my way to go, and the ideas from this week are staying with me forever.
