After emptying 1/2 a 5 gal. bucket of pretty wet reclaim
onto a piece of plywood to dry
I found I needed to go out of town for several days.
I usually have to nurse the clay as it dries so it doesn't
dry unevenly making wedging and throwing it difficult it not
impossible.
In my haste to leave I placed some dry towels on top of the clay.
When I returned I checked it and the towels kept the top layer of clay
from getting too dry. Seems it wicks moisture but doesn't allow it to
completely dry out.
Today I sliced it into 2" pieces and placed them in rows on Hardibacker
again placing the towels on them to dry out evenly.
I'll let you know how they turned out.
Gayle Bair - Sooo tired..... Spent all day Friday getting to airport,
waiting for flights in airports,
getting out of airports.... my sympathies to anyone who tried to get "Heea
from thar" on Friday! A gate attendant in Philly told me that day was the
absolute worst flying day to date.... I can believe it!
