you will be so pleased to know that we have
run under ground copper lines to all the kilns at hay creek.
of course they all have regulators.

yes, we have run heavy rubber lines to the kilns.
out doors, and folks know what they are doing.

in fact...we often laugh at people who tell us..
`hey mel, you can't use that high pressure welding
hose to run kiln burners...won't get enough volume.`.

well, have used it for twenty years. fire a kiln from
a 500 gallon propane tank...25 cubic foot kiln fires in four hours.
but, i know...it cannot be done. we just can't get gas through
that welding hose.
we run about 18-25 lbs of normal gas pressure.

the difference is that kurt and mel, and kevin, and dannon
and doug gray and bob anderson, about 15 other fine potters know what they are
doing. when tom comes up...he can do it too, and does.

so much is quality people, doing quality things...and we
are very conscious of being safe. we do not tolerate
stupidity.
that is the factor in getting hurt.
up a tree, reaching for that branch, chain saw on full, one hand.
over you go.

it is like the famous statement in wisconsin deer hunting
lore. the gun does not kill you, it is falling out of the tree
that kills you, or dragging a deer ten miles and then you
have a heart attack.
total stupidity.
we try and avoid that.
