The problem is being made a lot worse by various ISPs taking the law into=
their own hands. Ours (freeserve and/or wanadoo) have been working at=
"automatic spam recognition" for some weeks.
It has indeed helped to cut down on the amount of spam landing in the=
"in-box". The only problem is that we could previously check what had been=
designated spam on-line, but now they have over-stepped themselves IMHO=
and are actually blocking mail they presume to be spam. This applies to=
all users of those ISPs who are not tackling the spam problem seriously=
enough (or in the **opinion** of freeserve/wanadoo are not doing so).
For example our relatives in Germany, who use gmx.de have been told ALL=
MAIL to freeserve/wanadoo is being "returned to sender" with a=
mailer-deamon note to say it will not be accepted! This is causing raised=
eyebrows in many quarters and I feel that freeserve/wanadoo are=
overstepping the mark here.
When I say that Mel J., Kelly S., Lili K., Wayne S., Ron R., Snail S. (and=
several others who maybe do not mail quite as often like John B.) end up=
as spam it worries me that other legitimate post is not getting through...=
It does not really matter how many Clayart posts are missed, but other=
"personal and private" as well as "business" post is quite a different=
matter!
The really galling part? The only effective way to complain would appear to=
be by snail mail! This is progress?!?!? Damn the Spammers is what I say!=
May their balls whither, dry up and drop off...
Sincerely
Janet Kaiser -- Just about ready to start shooting a jet-skiiers too...=
Nasty noisy jobs on water....
