Hi All,
I am settling on building a spray booth with some kind of available
filter media. The Laguna booth describes a washable filter. Anyone
know what that is?

The laguna boothes we use have curved metal
"vent-like" inserts that alternate facing each other
when encased in the frame. They are efficient at
catching the larger particles, -but we vent to
outside, so I can't say as to the effectiveness of
recycling the air in a studio. The filters are also
very durable (you'd have to beat it with a hammer to
even dent it) and just wash off with a hose or in a
large sink.

Gordon,
Just a little thought here that you might or might not already know
about......
When designing a spraybooth with filters and baffles, the air flow is
greatly affected from a non filtered booth. Make sure that you do the
design work to get the face velocity correct.
And as the filters get dirty... the FPM capture velocity at the booth face
drops very fast. On most booths with filters, the design for "real"
industrial booths utilize a inclined tube manometer type pressure guage to
measure the pressure drop across the filter. It lets you know when the
filters are dirty enough to need changing before you only THINK you are
using a spray booth .
best,
