Hey Tony you salty dog you,

Ugliness is implicit in your post. Forgive me if I'm wrong.

Marsha does assure me that I'm a cutie, but I often tell myself, "What an
ugly mug you've got there, Taylor." Granted, I'm looking at some of the
last pieces I fired in Waco and they happen to be mugs, but it does make me
sad that we all can't be as pretty as you.

I was hanging a light above the wedging plaster and got another good look
at 10 of my mugs and had to cringe. They sit on a shelf with their
curvilinear sides and pulled handles, looking so blech in their crazed
transparent copper glaze. The rims and the inside have perfectly
scatalogical iron markings. I thought of hammering them, but I'm going to
keep them around as object lessons, things to shoot over. That and they
are too small to water the chickens.

Make what you love or love what you make,

Taylor, in Rockport TX
