native clay use in glazes

I have some clay which I have been processing by hand. It's only a small
quantity and is very short and sandy, so I've decided to use it in some
special glazes. I have searched in vain for information on the lowest mesh
size of clay which is still appropriate for glazes. Is 100 mesh sufficient
for most glazes?

Many thanks,
Gillian

Gillian,
I use local materials as coarse as 30 mesh because they cause speckling I
want. Glazes made with coarse materials settle quicker and need to be
stirred more often but try several mesh sizes and use the ones you find most
interesting.
