Well, it is indeed a small world. I had a meal last night with
Joseph's 1st daughter-in-law, Patricia Parr. She is a pianist and
married Joseph's son, who is a musician with the San Francisco
orchestra. (They are now divorced for many years, but there are
grandchildren and great grandchildren which has kept close ties;
Joseph's son is remarried) When she moved next to me, (a second
home, her first is in Toronto because she is still giving concerts),
a few years ago, down the road, and she found out that I was a
potter, she mentioned her father-in-law. I told her I had the book,
and treasured it. Not too long ago Joseph's wife died, and she went
to the funeral. She told me last night, that the house was filled
with his pots, and she chose a few to take home with her, some time
ago. I saw them last night. Simple forms and shapes, but he was a
chemist, basically interested in reproducing chinese glazes.
What a very generous thing for the family to do.
I find this so interesting Mel.
