Try downloading Thunderbird mail program.

It's free and has a big green junk button on the main menu.

This works the same way that Gail described the junk filter on her mac.
Every time you get an email you don't like, click on the junk button...
it trains the program what is junk and eventually they all end up in the
trash without you having to click anything.

Thunderbird runs on windows and macs.

While you're at the Thunderbird site, download a copy of the Firefox web
browser. I run these two programs on my Windows and Mac machines and
they both work excellent.

I use both of these Mozilla programs on my PC. Great tools. I also use
Mozilla Backup 1.3.2. It has saved my butt many times. I use it once a
week to back up both Firefox and Thunderbird.

Thunderbird, Firefox, and Mozilla Backup are absolutely excellent trio.
I highly recommend them.
