I love Tony's way with words. I have a friend who put me up for a couple of
months when I left California in 2001 and in exchange I painted and
stripped walls, and pointed the chimney. He still likes to tell people that
we used to live together.
I am still trying to get the workshop together - August 20-21 is a bad
weekend here. Too much going on. Lisa and I are considering the weekend of
August 26 and 27. Check you calendars. Yes, it is true that I can put up a
few people here and so will others living in the area.
Lisa's work involves much handbuilding and incredible surface decoration
using slip and sprigs. She makes bisque molds that are used, some with and
some without the wheel, to make her forms. Participants will get to make
sprig molds and practice what she is sharing. I have room for 11 and have 8
so far. The price is always set based on fees and expenses and I don't make
money from it. It is all for the learning and I am hoping we can learn from
Lisa.

You can imagine my delight when Linda phoned me this morning asking me to
come and sleep at her house and take in the Lisa Orr workshop. I told you
her career was back on track but I omitted telling you she is the madame of
a beautiful house looking out over the lake. Apparently a few people have
calfed on the Lisa Orr workshop and there is room for you to stay at Linda's
house. Not only will you be staying in fine digs you'll be wining and dining
with Lisa Orr. I love this woman and her work. She is one of these David
Hendley types that haven't got a bad bone in their body. BRian Giffin ought
to be sponsoring the workshop since Lisa will want y'all to own a Giffin
grip. Don't tell anyone but I borrowed one to try her techniques.
I'm pimping this workshop cause I figure sleeping with Linda and getting a
Lisa Orr worshop at $150 is just tooooooooo good to be true.
