Hi Leland,
You have probably had this pointed out, but a 60 amp breaker would be
required for a kiln drawing 45 amps. There should be no more than 80%
load on any given breaker. My Skutt 1227 draws 48 amps, so needs
exactly a 60 amp breaker. A 50 amp breaker is only good for an
appliance drawing 40 amps. Testing current loads after any rewiring is
a good idea. Very sorry for your loss.
