I just wanted to announce this to clayart members:
Soda Kiln Building Workshop with John Britt.
The Pullen Arts Center in Raleigh, NC is sponsoring a kiln building
workshop with John Britt beginning the evening of Thursday Sept 8 - Sunday
11th. He will cover the basics of kiln building theory and practice,
including building a 30 cubic foot soft brick soda kiln. Participants will
receive a CD with plans for the soda kiln. The following Thursday evening
Sept 15th, students will bring glazed, bare or slip decorated bisque ware
to the kiln site and help load the kiln. The kiln will then be soda fired
on September 16th under the guidance of Ronan Peterson. There are still a
few slots available but it will fill up fast. If you, or any of your

Soda Kiln Building Workshop at the Pullen Arts Center, NC.
There are two spaces open in the upcoming Kiln Building workshop at the
Pullen Arts Center in Raleigh, NC. John Britt will be leading the workshop
which begins on the evening of Thursday Sept 8 and runs through Sunday the
11th.
He will cover the basics of kiln building theory and practice,including
building a 30 cubic foot soft brick soda kiln. Participants will
receive a CD with plans for the soda kiln. The following Thursday evening
Sept 15th, students will bring glazed, bare or slip decorated bisque ware
to the kiln site and help load the kiln. The kiln will then be soda fired
on September 16th under the guidance of Ronan Peterson ans unloaded on the
18th.
The cost is $230.00 for both weekends!
