We'll meet up at Bill's gallery between 9 and 10 for coffee and doughnuts!
At 10, Bill will give us a tour of his studio and tell us all about his
journey with clay through the years. He'll show us all of his unique
tools, how he does production work and how he makes a living being a
potter. There will be some time to look at all of his finished pots in
his gallery where "Do It Yourself Pottery" is filmed. We'll check out the
new wood kiln that Bill is in the process of building.
After that, we'll take a short drive over to The Frederick Pottery School,
which Bill founded, and he'll show us the operation. Then he'll give a
fantastic demonstration, showing tons of throwing and hand building
techniques. Since we'll be such a small group, there'll be lots of time
for asking questions and talking as we eat our pot luck lunch.
This will be a unique opportunity to see the full operation of a truly
successful potter who's got the goods on making it work!
