Hello all,
Well I've entered Blogland, started one and now have one more thing to spend
time on. I have to say, for those of you who don't want to launch a
full-blown website, but would like to share a few things, this is pretty
easy. (except when Blogger thinks I have my cookies shut off, or Java
disabled, and I don't, but never mind)
Anyway, I posted some pictures of a few pots - one shows a rutile wash on a
dark high iron glaze, and I have several pictures from different batches of
Touchtone Red, cone 6/7 ox. This glaze is sometimes known as Randy's Red,
and other names, and if any of you out there have really nailed this glaze,
I'd be interested in comments as to how my results compare with yours. To
see this, click on www.annsgoodies.blogspot.com
Thanks for looking,
Ann Brink in Lompoc CA, now thinking I'd rather have a different URL, but
don't know how to change it...can any of you bloggers tell me? Do I have to
delete this blog and start over?

Ann,
MSN has a thing called 'spaces', that's there blog sites. It's pretty nice and you can pick your own set up and background colors. Very easy to use. You might like it. Here is mine so you can get an idea of how it looks. I'm just getting started and only have my older work on there,(and then only 2) and some pics of my studio. You can also enlarge the pictures. It's a nice set up:

I have used the Randy's Red version of your Touchstone Red, most of the time I get that great iron red, but have also had that green show up.
I also enjoyed your blog.

Hi Ann -
Soon as I get to the studio, I'll compare your recipe for Touchstone Red
with what I have for Randy's Red.
We fire to cone 5 at the studio, and I find this glaze really does need to
go all the way to 6 - so when I fire mid-range, I mostly don't use this
glaze. As far as application/results go, I find there needs to be a LOT of
glaze on the pot to get any red at all. I love the photos of the pots on
your blog.
Thanks for the treat.
