To all,
I hope Mel doesn't mind this plug. A year
ago Tony advertised a CD of glaze test images we were
putting together at Sheridan. A fellow computer nut
and I have taken the idea a step further and designed
a software program for ceramic studios. We are close
to debugging the complete program and would like to
invite people to test the software. Here is a list of
some of the features:

Fully customizable user accounts for using the
software. This means in an educational, or
apprenticeship setting you may create a group of users
on just one computer, control how much of the software
other people can use and then easily clear the
information at the end of a term.

A messaging network allowing software owners to create
discussions about specific topics, or manage an email
network for your customers.

A fully customizable kiln log generator to easily
create log sheets for your kilns.

Glaze recipe index with photo veiwing capability that
links to your firing schedule database.

A calendar page that can recieve text entries for
tracking events such as firings and studio openings.

A material inventory list for your studio that can be
linked to a material vendor address book for easy
re-ordering.

A photo gallery that gives you full control of
editing, presentation, labeling and sorting.

The software is web based and web compatible for easy
loading. Text documents can be linked and stored
within the software.

If you are interested in being a tester please email
me OFF the list ( pyrochromatic88@yahoo.com )and
include what studio setting you work in...academic,
commercial, or private. Please do not hit the reply
button or Mel will fry me.
We will select 10 testers from a variety of studio
types in about 2 weeks time.
Thank you,
John Boyd
