Dear Diane;
I found this one very pretty among the several I tried while at the
Appalachian Center for Craft....... mixed some up today for a soda
firing at Keith Rice-Jones' in Burnaby BC next week.
Smooth Orange
EPK 40
OM4 40
Borax 5
Zircopax 10
Use a brush that gives you texture (hakeme style)
Cheers, Hank

I looked at the archives for soda fired slips and only found a couple. I
am taking a course and the instructor wants us to start with some basic
recipes with no colorants and them to make our own after testing.
Does any have any they are willing to share?
Much appreciate any help.

Prayers out to all our friends in the New Orleans area.

I have 3 pages of soda slip/glaze test tiles and recipes on my web site. Go
to:

and scroll down the page and there are links at the bottom left to the 3
soda pages.

Diane,
ruthanne tudball's "soda glazing" has some recipes and there are a lot
of variations and discussions in phil roger's "salt glazing"
it seems a basic formula is 50 kaolin/50 ball clay
