Several people had been asking about lantern construction in the last several
weeks-Vince makes many different styles of lanterns, from wonderful large
sculptural totem pieces to whimsical jack-o-lanterns I suspect he's quite
familiar with all styles. He is also the head of sculpture and ceramics at Crealde.
Frank is a metal sculptor and also a potter. He's intrigued all of us in the
ceramics dept with his detailed lanterns and we are eager to see just how he
does it. I'm not sure the pictures will do them justice, they have a look that is
almost like a wrought iron kind of detail. But take a look at the pics I sent
to the flickr website below. Didn't get a chance to get one of Vince's -but I
assure you they're all wonderful, I'll try to get a shot of something after
the next firing before they get sent to a gallery or sold at a show and put it
on flickr.Vince's www.sansoneart.com website is worth a peek, it shows some of
his serious work from his less serious side.
Hope to see some of you.
