G'day to all,
Australia being the kind of country it is ... huge and with a bush sparingly populated, has very creative people.
Like the ones that started the "Flying Doctors", "Schools of the Air" ( Ian Curry comes from that program) which help and cater for the needs of the people living out in the bush with no means to get to towns.
Greg Daly, Janet DeBoos and the staff at the Australian National University in Canberra have created the INTERNATIONAL DISTANCE CERAMICS COURSES for people that can not physically attend a University.
Greg introduced the program at NCECA 2004, Indiana and was very interesting. They have online contact, where the progress of the work is shown, dificulties discussed and problems solved.
Red Deer College in Alberta, Canada is also involved. The students enrolled are from rural Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, USA, Malaysia.
