how long were you unable to work with clay? I have surgery on the 23rd =
and two big shows back to back in November, one tiny one in between and =
very little in inventory. The doctor said it will take no time at all, =
max two weeks, the last time they told me that about food surgery I was =
in a wheelchair for 3 months. I've been trying to work like mad, but =
life keeps interfering with responsibilities.

Dear Karin,
I had 2 carpal tunnel releases about 25 years ago and I think it took about
6 weeks before I could throw on the wheel but much less time to hand build.
Then I had a trigger finger release on my thumb about 2 years later and was
able to work almost immediately. I am now 77 years old and had a shot for a
trigger on my right forefinger 2 months ago. I was able to work about 2 days
later. The shot was by far the fastest relief but I understand it doesn't
always work.
Good luck,
Debby Grant in NH

When I had trigger finger a number of years ago, I decided to try physical
therapy first, before surgery, and it worked perfectly for me. So I did not
have the surgery.
I would highly recommend trying therapy (actually occupational therapy as it
turned out) first, before surgery, so perhaps you can avoid surgery. In
about the first week of therapy, we could see that I was going to get
excellent results.
