kiln "conversion" question

I have an old Duncan electric kiln, small: 15" height
inside. All coils are working. The kiln now keeps
tripped the fuse only whenever I turn it to High Fire.
Electric wiring in the house is new and the kiln
worked fine for 2 years. I opened up the kilnsitter to
see if there was a wiring issue but I couldn't see
anything wrong/touching/burnning.

My question: can I take the kilnsitter off, or should
I disconnect it somehow ( I already tried running it
w/o the kilnsitter on) and just witness the cone
?(yes, i have the right goggles)? How do I bring it up
to highfire that way? Electricians here are good at
scratching their heads.

I just want to keep using it for bisque and test
firing.
Appreciate sugestions. Cannot buy a new kiln now .

Marianne

Marianne, does the circuit breaker trip when the kiln is turned to High?
What is the model number of the kiln?
