Last week I fired another kiln load. After the advice that I got here, I came to the conclusion that the crawling was due to wet pots/moisture.
So, I was cautious, letting layers dry out overnight.
And starting my firing up slowly although the pots did look dry.
Good news- everything came out fine. Thank you, all.
So, here I am again, a kiln load full of pots. I worked faster as I have a deadline.
About 12 or so of these pots are wet.
Time to turn the kiln on to glaze fire. Electric, cone 6. I have the lid propped, and the switch is on low. I was thinking of doing this for 1/2 hour, turning the kiln off for 1/2 hour, then what?
I wanted to get everything dry enough to start firing about 12 hours from now. Or sooner.
Thanks,
