My thoughts on this subject: Pumice can be bought at hardware stores and volcanic ash can be bought at horticulture stores as well. I notice on my recent trip to Sloat Gardening store today they carry volcanic ash you would have to grind into a powder. I bought 5 pounds of Dolomite Lime for glazing purposes which I will avae to grind into a fine powder. Hope this is helpful in some small way, if not it is just a suggestion.
